Design of Hesitation Gestures for Nonverbal Human-Robot Negotiation of Conflicts

چکیده

When the question of who should get access to a communal resource first is uncertain, people often negotiate via nonverbal communication resolve conflict. What robot be programmed do when such conflicts arise in Human-Robot Interaction? The answer this varies depending on context situation. Learning from how humans use hesitation gestures solution conflict situations, we present human-inspired design that can used for Negotiation. We extracted characteristic features negotiative hesitations use, and subsequently designed trajectory generator (Negotiative Hesitation Generator) re-create responses conflicts. Our human-subjects experiment demonstrates efficacy behaviour against non-negotiative stopping robot. With positive results our human-robot interaction experiment, provide validated with which one explore dynamics negotiation

investigating the feasibility of a proposed model for geometric design of deployable arch structures

deployable scissor type structures are composed of the so-called scissor-like elements (sles), which are connected to each other at an intermediate point through a pivotal connection and allow them to be folded into a compact bundle for storage or transport. several sles are connected to each other in order to form units with regular polygonal plan views. the sides and radii of the polygons are...

Tactile gestures for human/robot interaction

Gesture-Based Programming is a new paradigm to ease the burden of programming robots. By tapping in to the user’s wealth of experience with contact transitions, compliance, uncertainty and operations sequencing, we hope to provide a more intuitive programming environment for complex, real-world tasks based on the expressiveness of non-verbal communication. A requirement for this to be accomplis...

Pantomimic Gestures for Human-Robot Interaction

This work introduces a pantomimic gesture interface, which classifies human hand gestures using unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) behaviour recordings as training data. We argue that pantomimic gestures are more intuitive than iconic gestures and show that a pantomimic gesture recognition strategy using micro UAV behaviour recordings can be more robust than one trained directly using hand gestures....

Motion Design for Nonverbal Communication with a Humanoid Robot

In the near future, humanoid robots will act as the partners of human beings in daily life. Among numerous human-like competencies, motion of humanoid robots is critical for providing humans with richer interactions with such robots. Motion plays an essential role in complementing spoken communication. Moreover, the motions of humanoid robots generate nonverbal communication in various contexts...
